Wrong....

Dear Baby Girl,

Something has been wrong with you today. It has me worried sick. We don't know what is wrong and I am TERRIFIED to take you in to get any tests run. I don't know if you will ever know how much I love you and how I want the best for you in everything. Please be okay. I am pleading with you and with the Lord on this one. PLEASE be okay.

PS Jellybean is stressing too. He doesn't like it when I cry. You didn't like it when you were in my tummy either. I think it is the first thing that you two have in common.

Dear E-

Please hope that the neighbors don't hate your manipulative "This is terrible! I just want to see Mommy!" cries during a time out, and in turn, hate us. I mean, it isn't my favorite thing, but everyone tells me that I will miss this some day, so I am trying to enjoy this phase we are in right now. Maybe it is a good thing- it will prep the neighbors for when the baby arrives. All the same, can you please learn how to keep your screams so they are only heard for a mile radius from the house?

Public Appearance

Dear Kids,

There is a reality that I have come to appreciate/loath in life. This is the reality of public appearance. I made this little chart for you, but the bottom line is that the less time you put in to getting ready, the more likely you will run into someone you know when you are out. Sick with the flu and have to run to the drug store? Yep, you'll see your crush. Just had a crazy workout and you are hot and sweaty and look like a mess? You will run into that person who always looks put together and awesome-even after a workout themselves-that you are dying to impress. Running late to get to work? Of course that will be the day that a high ranking government official comes into your office at work who you are asked to entertain. 

Life is funny like that. Life isn't fair. You will survive, even if it is embarrassing at the time. I have learned that you can learn a lot about someone's character in these moments when your physical appearance fails to impress. Life happens and there are times you will be out and about when you haven't put in time to get ready. (I also hope you understand that life is too short to put off going out if you don't have an hour to get ready. More on that later, I am sure.)

I have random little things I want to tell you, but you are too young for them to mean much yet. (Or at all.) So, I created this space for you, and anyone else to learn of my mental notes and little life lessons. I hope this will mean something to you some day.
